Making a plan for a counterattack, Sally decided to use their finished catapults loaded with water balloons to fight off the Buzz-Bombers. Although Sally would worry about Sonic and Tails, they finally came back during the night, only to warn everyone that a Buzz-Bombers squadron was approaching the Great Forest with a chemical agent that would expose Knothole. As such, Sally sent Sonic, with whom Tails went along with, to Robotropolis to get the parts they needed. While in Knothole Village, Sally and Rotor worked on building catapults, but they lacked parts. She also set herself the goal of finding her father, who had not been seen after Robotnik's coup. ![]() For the next several years, Sally was a member of the Knothole Freedom Fighters and led a number of activity against Robotnik, who occupied Robotropolis. In 3224, however, at the age of five, Sally had to flee to Knothole Village after Dr. At some point, she also received a portable computer known as Nicole. Sally also grew up with Sonic, whose behavior sometimes irritated her. Her father taught Sally their family's secret creed and she was over by her nanny, Rosie. From childhood, she was raised to take over the throne. Sally was born into the royal family ruling the kingdom of Mobotropolis in 3219 as the daughter of the King. Later on, she would also begin wearing a blue, sleeveless vest. She also have blue eyes and voluminous auburn hair. She varied from being tall, to short, to more humanoid, to more alien, being a redhead, being blonde, having a baseball cap looking hair cut, etc. However, Sally, and her princess title, were retained in the new story bible.ĭesign wise, they had considered making Sally a human at one point. While Chuck was unfortunately very ill and couldn't be involved, Len was indeed put in charge of the show, and he wrote the story bible for the show, developing many characters to the point that they were unrecognizable from their SoA story bible counterparts. ABC gave them an on air commitment, under the condition that the story editors for the show be Len Janson and Chuck Menville. For unknown reasons, these concept art pieces were featured in an article of Sonic the Poster Mag #1, #12 of Sonic the Comic, a DiC Communications Card, on a stand seen at Disney World Epcot's Innoventions, and on various magazine and newspaper announcements of the the series.Įventually, Sega gave DiC the rights to make the Sonic cartoon, and they pitched it to ABC. The pitch greatly resembled the SoA story bible, featuring re imagined versions of many characters from it, including Sally Acorn, renamed to "Princess Acorn", with her now being a princess wearing a red dress. This pitch was likely written by Phil Harnage, although the artists of the pitch art is unknown. ĭiC put together a pitch, likely either to get the rights to make a Sonic cartoon or to sell it to the network, or both. When various companies, such as Saban and DiC, were battling it out for the rights to make a Sonic the Hedgehog cartoon, the SoA story bible was given to each company as reference, something Al Nilsen confirmed himself.
